Curriculum Integration
Share a media academy project which integrated American government and video production course content. Students created public service announcements based on the U.S. Census to create awareness of the 2010 Census in South Los Angeles (L.A.), a hard-to-count area. With student and teacher commitment, as well as the support of Academy business partners, and the involvement of the LAUSD Superintendent, L.A. Mayor Villaraigosa, the Director of the U.S. Census, and California’s Complete Count Committee. We will highlight the process and the significance of student engagement, integrated curriculum and business partners in a California Partnership Academy.
