Conducting a Biotechnology Step-Up Class

A summer Step-Up Class in biotechnology can inspire students to take more science classes and become passionate about science. Step-Up Classes are eight to sixteen hour mini-classes for middle school students taught by high school CTE teachers. The 2010 California Biology Teacher of the Year will share the model she has created for providing students a hands-on opportunity to explore biotechnology and promote her program.
